Dishkal is located between Dudpather and Yusmarg. A meadow on top of the mountain overlooks the Ashtaar glacier in the northern state of J&K. The meadow is surrounded by pir panjal mountains, pine forests, and a glacier that gives a spectacular view. For adventurous people, a trek to paradise is worth it.

Trek from Doodhpathri to Dishkal

Dhoodhpathri is a tourist destination and a hill station in Kashmir. It is situated at an altitude of 2730 meters (8960 ft.) above sea level. J&K Forest Department has put up a board that reads, “About the trail” and “Dos and Don’ts” for tourists. The tourists are requested to adhere to the rules. When you step in for trek from Dodhpathri, a signboard of the Jammu and Kashmir Forest department reads, “Let’s Walk in the Nature”.

The total Distance from Doodhpathri to Dishkal is 5 km. and can be trekked in 2 hours of continuous trekking. If you take a break to make a memory or fill your tummy, it will exceed. The trip will take you past several types of flora, including fir, spruce, and more. The hike is not particularly challenging, and the incline is easy to moderate.

The trek looks heavenly beautiful, but at a point, various trails connect with the different routes.

The ideal months to visit Dishkal are June and July. During these months, the weather is pleasant for trekking. I would advise avoiding visiting during monsoon, i.e; July onwards, due to slippery trails and low visibility.
